Lee Hongki receives favourable comments for his acting.

In the Chuseok special drama “Noriko, Goes to Seoul”, which was aired on KBS 2TV on 10 September, Lee Hongki (FTIsland) plays the role of Minha, a singer wanna-be. Partnering him is Takashima Reiko as Noriko, who challenged herself at auditions held in Korea, to give hopes to her daughter.

Lee Hongki has received recognition for his acting roles in SBS “You’re Beautiful” as Jeremy and Japanese drama  TBS “Muscle Girl” which was aired this year.

In this drama, Lee Hongki shows off his firm acting skills and expressions, with great dialogue delivery,  keeping the audience absorbed throughout the show.

Netizens who have watched “Noriko, Goes to Seoul” gave responses like, “I didn’t know Lee Hongki could act this well”, “Lee Hongki’s Rediscovery!”, “He’s by no means inferior to any leading actor”, “Debuting as a child actor has a different level of acting skill indeed”, etc.

[News] 110811 Lee Hongki, Casted for KBS Chuseok Special “Noriko, Goes to Seoul”

FTIsland’s Lee Hongki has been casted as the main lead for the KBS Chuseok Special “Noriko, Goes to Seoul”.

“Noriko, Goes to Seoul” talks about the story of a lady in her 40s, Noriko, who is captivated by Hallyu star Kim Hyunjae, goes to Korea to take part in auditions. This TV-movie will not only be broadcasted in Korea, but also in Japan.

Lee Hongki plays the role of Minha, a singer-wannabe who met Noriko and is suddenly approached by her to teach her singing.

Lee Hongki has played the role of a Hallyu star in his previous Japanese drama “Muscle Girl”. With this new production, he will be able to firmly secure his career path as an actor.

With Japanese actress Takashima Reiko casted as the female lead, “Noriko, Goes to Seoul” will air on 11 September, at 11.15pm.

[News] 110414 Ichikawa Yui, “Lee Hongki’s a Caring Person”

FTIsland’s Lee Hongki announced the official start of his first leading role in the Japanese TBS drama “Muscle Girl”.

Lee Hongki attended the press conference of “Muscle Girl” on the 13th in Japan. He is currently staying in Japan for the filming of the drama.

Lee Hongki said that, “When I first heard that I was being casted in the drama, I felt stressful. But in fact, filming was fun and interesting. I hope to show it to everyone soon.”

His female partner for the drama, Japanese actress Ichikawa Yui, revealed that, “Lee Hongki is making a great progress in his proficiency of the Japanese language. I got a shock everytime I see him. When I wasn’t feeling well, he was worried and showed a lot of concern for me, as if he was the one in pain.”

Lee Hongki responded by saying, “Initially, I thought that Ichikawa Yui’s a cold person but she’s actually a bright and kind-hearted lady. She’s learning the Korean language too and even speaks to me in the language.”

Drama “Muscle Girl” talks about a tough love story between a female owner of a pro-wrestling organization and a Korean star. It is slated for airing on 19th April.

On the other hand, FTIsland will be singing the main theme song for the drama.

[News] 110407 FTIsland, To Take Part in “Muscle Girl” OST

FTIsland will participate in the OST of the Japanese TBS drama “Muscle Girl”, also starring its member, Lee Hongki.

FTIsland’s Japanese management company, FNC Japan, said on the 7th, “FTIsland will be singing the main theme song for ‘Muscle Girl’, titled ‘Haruka’. Besides, they also have another OST song titled ‘Someday’ (いつか). The two songs are recorded in their first Japanese regular album titled ‘FIVE TREASURE ISLAND’, which is slated for release on 18th May.”

Drama “Muscle Girl” which is scheduled to air on 19th April, talks about a tough love story between a female owner of a pro-wrestling organization and a Korean star. Ichikawa Yui, Makami Kensei, Yamamoto Hikaru and other Japanese cast will also participate in the drama.

FNC Japan said that, “FTIsland’s song matches the heartwarming scenes of ‘Muscle Girl’ very well.”

Prior to this, FTIsland’s ‘SATISFACTION’ was also selected to be the ending theme song for the Fuji TV anime ‘Toriko’, that was aired earlier on 3rd. This single will be released in Japan on 20th April.

Group FTIsland’s Lee Hongki heads for Japan for his drama filming despite Japan’s earthquake aftershocks.

Lee Hongki left for Tokyo on 22nd to film his upcoming TBS and MBS drama “Muscle Girl”, which is slated to air next month.

His management company, FNC Music, revealed that, “Though there are still aftershocks occurring after the major earthquake in Japan, we’re unable to postpone the filming any longer. Until now, the crew has been safely focusing on filming.”

It has also been revealed that Lee Hongki is currently busy traveling between Japan and Korea and that he will concentrate only on his drama until the end of next month.

This drama is Lee Hongki’s first Japanese local drama production. FTIsland will also be participating in the drama OST, garnering lots of attention from their Japanese fans. His partner in the drama is the famous actress, Ichikawa Yui, who also starred in “Gokusen” and “Ju-on”.

His management company also said that, “As a promise made to the fans, it was decided that he will participate in the drama filming. He had a great deal of enthusiasm in the undertaking of this production. He is currently working well with the local staffs in the filming.”

FNC Music revealed on the 14th that FT Island’s vocal Lee Hongki has been casted as the main lead of a new Japanese drama.

According to his management company, “Muscle Girl”, the drama which Lee Hongki will be casted in, will begin its airing this coming April on both TBS and MBS. Lee Hongki will pair up with the drama’s female lead, Ichikawa Yui.

Spokesperson of his management company also said that, “Lee Hongki has gained popularity in Japan as the vocal of the band FT Island. He has also gained recognition for his acting skills with the drama ‘You’re Beautiful’, which was aired earlier in Japan. FT Island will be singing the OST for the upcoming Japanese drama.”
